Savoury Cheese Puffs
This cheese puff recipe from Childhood 101 is simple enough for the kids to make with minimal assistance.
It’s crunchy, cheesy goodness.
Perfect for apero or snack time!
– 2 sheets of puff pastry (if you can make puff pastry that is awesome, I used shop bought)
– 1 egg
– 1 tbsp water
– Grated cheese
Defrost the puff pastry sheets if necessary.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Beat the egg and water together to form an egg wash.
Cut shapes from the pastry using a biscuit cutter.
Lay the shapes on baking paper and brush with the egg wash.
Sprinkle cheese onto each one.
Bake for 10 mins or until cheese has melted and Voila!
Cheese puffs can be eaten warm or cold.
I actually enjoyed these so much that I tried a few variations (all were devoured incredibly quickly).
They are now my ‘go to nibbles’ when we have people over!
I really liked
– brie and cranberry sauce
– sun dried tomato and mozzarella
– goat cheese and caramelised onion
