Cornflake Cakes – not just for Easter!

Who ever said that cornflake cakes are just for Easter?
Why limit these treats to once a year?
Both of these recipes are a great option for the kids to take as a classroom treat. The children will feel proud that they were able to make these treats with very limited help from grown ups!

Cornflake Cakes

  • 100g milk chocolate
  • 50g butter
  • 2tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g cornflakes
  • Mini eggs

Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup together in the microwave.
Add the cornflakes and stir until well coated.
Spoon the mixture into cake cases and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Add mini eggs to decorate.

Rice Krispie Cups

You will need

  • 4 cups of marshmallows
  • 5 cups rice krispies
  • ¼ cup of butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • Mini eggs

How to

Grease a muffin tray.
Put the marshmallows in the microwave for 20 seconds and stir.
Repeat if necessary.
Add melted butter and vanilla, mix well.
Add cereal one cup at a time mixing well.
Scoop the mixture into the muffin tray and use your hands to squish the mixture into a cup shape.
Set in the fridge.
Serve with mini eggs!
